While we still bathe in sunlight and sip our cocktails, the people behind the scenes of Belgium’s best nightclubs have been busy preparing another season of top notch nightlife events. In anticipation of what’s to come, we’ve asked the same two simple questions to all these promoters: what was your highlight of the last season – and what’s coming in the next months? The answers might surprise you, maybe you’ll even read an exclusive announcement. Who knows? Cheers to the new clubbing season!

AMPERE (Antwerp)

Previous highlights:

- Without a doubt: Theo Parrish, Grandmaster Flash, our NYE party with the complete Mahogani Music crew from Detroit with Moodymann, Andres, Amp Fiddler and more – bringing over their families even. New Year’s doesn’t come any better than that. Other highlights include the concert of The Pharcyde (both on- and off-stage) and the DJ-sets by Hunee and Ben UFO.

What’s coming in the next months?

- We open the season in style: we’re hosting a stage on Laundry Day, as well as the official after party back in our club.

- Kozzmozz and We Play House will continue the good vibes after that with names like Marcel Fengler, Steve Rachmad, Pfirter, Tama Sumo & Lakuti, Spacid and Kr!z.

- Then we got some concerts lined up by the likes of Mad Professor & Lee Scratch Perry, London Callin featuring The Not Beatles, Gers Pardoel, and more.

- Also upcoming and anxiously awaiting: Âme, DVS1 vs Marco Shuttle, [a:rpia:r], Mano Le Tough & Locked Groove, Kollektiv Turmstrasse, dBridge & Breakage, DJ Rush, Jeremy Underground, Lefto, Rahaan, Function, Faisal, Mind Against, Abdulla Rashim, Amelie Lens and plenty more of both strong acts and fresh talent.

REFLEKTOR (Liège)

Previous highlights:

- It’s hard to pin down a particular highlight, since our array of events and music is so wide. But let’s say the hip-hop riot with Roméo Elvis and Caballero & JeanJass was a lot of fun! The Jazz à Liège nights with Yussuf Kamaal and The Comet Is Coming, the French improvisation genius Jacques, the indie pop hero Blonde Redhead, the trash metal legends Anthrax, and of course the incredible Kate Tempest.

CLUB VAAG (Antwerp)

Previous highlights:

- One of the clear highlights of last year for us was the Second State label night in October. We don’t want to focus on big names in our club, but when an institution like that passes by your intimate venue it’s going to be something extraordinary. Tickets were sold out in less than 24 hours and the club was packed by midnight – so when Pan Pot took over the DJ booth the atmosphere just exploded. And just when you thought you’ve reached the peak of the night, Amelie Lens made sure to keep the good vibes going until the last moments. A night to remember.

- The first time Charlotte De Witte played at Club Vaag (last January) was one of our most memorable nights of the year. There was an incredibly long line to get in, and an unbelievable atmosphere. Nights really don’t come any better than this.

- The last highlight was the night Stimming performed live – in this intimate setting, this was one of the most special nights we’ve had so far.

What’s coming in the next months?

- We’re very much looking forward to the sets from Edu Imbernon and Robag Wruhme, who is one of our favorite producers of all time. We can’t tell you much more about what we have in stall for you but we can guarantee it will be a very fun year at Club Vaag.

BLOODY LOUIS (Brussels)

Previous highlights:

- We think the biggest thing that we had last season was the party with Drake. He jumped on the DJ booth, took the mic for 30 minutes and literally killed the club. We slapped our face when he started singing to make sure I was not dreaming, haha. Epic stuff! For some who couldn’t make it or didn’t know that he came you all should watch this.

What’s coming in the next months?

- You know, every year I’m excited to re-open the club. We changed a lot of things, we really went into detail for this fifth season. We can’t wait to show this new DJ booth, the new lights we brought in, and of course... can’t wait to announce the artists we booked.
