For now, it looks like this will be one of the first proper open air parties of the year.
It's unclear what the situation will look like in the immediate future, but that doesn't stop Antwerp's Soulful Sessions from going ahead with their yearly open air festival. On Saturday September 5, the organization takes over the Boeienweide on the city's left bank - a green spot with an unobstructed view on the skyline. Amongst the confirmed names: Dan Shake, Barbara Boeing, Alfred Anders, Souf and DJ Peugeot.
Officially, outdoor music events are not allowed to take place until at least August 31. What happens after is still a mystery. "Obviously we will make sure we're in total compliance with the rules and guidelines given by the government", says co-promoter Aeson Löw. "That said, it would be a shame not to continue the preparations as long as there's a chance we can make it happen - even if that is in a different form".
