In this brand new video series, we're shining a light on some of Belgium's freshest new talents. This time around, we're taking things a little differently. With only the guidance of one analogue instrument, the artist performs a stripped-down version of a track of their choice. Simply put: it's back to basics - songwriting laid bare in its purest form.
From the very start, it was clear Lous and The Yakuza was destined for an epic ascent into stardom. Although we have only been treated to a handful of singles so far, the Brussels-based artist truly is an icon in the making. Her fast flows, sharp lyrics and crystal clear vision made her stand out tall above her peers. Sadly, her debut album and first tour were postponed, but that didn't stop the charismatic singer from performing French and Italian national television, locking a Colors appearance and adding Madonna to her long list of fans. (Btw, she also claimed a top spot in the Fresh on the Scene category at the Red Bull Elektropedia Awards 2019 - watch her debut video interview here). For the second episode of our PURE video series, Lous delivers a heavenly delicate-yet-strong unplugged version of her latest single Solo, recorded live in one take at LaVallée in Brussels.
