Première: Glass Museum gets the remix treatment from RARI

Last year, pianist Antoine Flipo and drummer Martin Grégoire released their well-received debut album ‘Deux’ as Glass Museum, they have been named as Belgium’s most promising hybrid jazz act. Few other names in this country can really find that sweet spot between melancholic song writing and free spirited jazz in the way they do. Pepper in some electronic elements and you have a unique sound that reminds us of BADBADNOTGOOD or Jon Hopkins. The duo from Brussels had an excellent year with gigs at Dour Festival, Reeperbahn, Fusion Festival, Nuits Sonores and they even made it on Lefto’s recent jazz compilation, ‘Jazz Cats’.

Well, now it’s time their championed ‘Deux’ gets a fresh update with a few remixes that view their music from a different perspective. RARI, Haring and Sun Glitters are amongst the producers who will take a shot at electronically redefining the excellent selection of floaty jazz. ‘Deux Remixed’, will hit the digital shelves tomorrow, but you can already hear RARI’s remix of ‘Wu’ below. Something for the fans of Max Cooper, Rival Consoles or Kiasmos if you ask us…
