Made In Belgium

Six months later: Moka Boka

Remember the good ol’ days of October 2016? Well, we sure do! This was the month we decided to team up with Lefto and Democrazy for the third time to present you a new class of Belgian talent. A group of six gifted individuals were invited to perform at Kunstencentrum Vooruit to showcase their promising potential. Almost six months later, we wanted to sound out these six creative newcomers about their beginning careers, their experiences so far and their dreams to come. For this episode we turn to the one they call Moka Boka!

Moka! What has changed since the ‘Made In Belgium’ event last October?

"I’m more motivated than ever, the crowd there gave me a lot of strength. I’ve released my new project, ‘SuperNova’, which I’m super happy about!"

What has been the most memorable moment in your young career so far?

"Definitely ‘Made In Belgium’, which was my first big appearance after disappearing for one year. The feedback was very positive and encouraging."

What do you hope to achieve within, let's say, five years?

"In 5 years, I want to be making music with guys like Nekfeu, Stromae and Mick Jenkins."

What is the best word of advice you ever received?

"Be you, no one else can be you. That’s why you are the best at what you’re doing. The way you are doing your thing, nobody could be a better you."

If you could collaborate with any artist out there, who would it be and why?

"I’d like to work on a production level with Hamza. Also, I like the voice of Coely. I would love to have her on my next project!"

Any scoops you can give us of what we can expect from you in the near future?

"More music, more visuals, more arts!"
