Great news for alternative music fans across the globe. Lefto, Studio Brussel resident for over 20 years and one of the best selectors Belgium has to offer, has announced he starts a brand new record label. Royale Records will be a home for all the enchanting music the craftsman DJ will come across. The very first EP, produced by the mysterious Belgian Annie Pleasure (rumour has it this is a pseudonym for a member of a well-known jazz band out there), will drop tomorrow. Lucky for you, we have an exclusive first listen for you right here, right now.
The sound balances right on the sweet spot between jazz and rave, and early fans include Gilles Peterson, The Gaslamp Killer and Addison Groove. Royale Records will be “a label in development, for artists in development”, as Lefto claims, predominantly focussing on Belgian talent. We can’t wait to hear more.
