A dedicated 100% Belgian playlist exploring the boundaries of techno, selected by homegrown specialists.
As Belgians, we already know that we have a rich and comprehensive techno culture. Starting today, Red Bull Elektropedia is hosting a brand new playlist that's dedicated to just that. Every season, we pick a specialist curator that's free to select his or her favourite homegrown picks, exploring the boundaries of techno and making regular updates. So stop what you're doing right now, move the furniture and get raving.
The first selector reporting for duty is Cellini. Normally, this Maasmechelen-native would be touring his highly anticipated Carbone theatre tour, a show in which he and a handful of other talents visualize Italo-Belgian migration history. While the shows are postponed, the vinyl release is available as of this week already. All proceeds will go to Een Hart Voor Limburg.
"For this playlist, I have selected my favourite Belgian electronic tracks of the moment. These are records that I always enjoy putting on while playing a DJ-set, while driving, or while cooking". From Amelie Lens & Farrago's straightforward 'Purge' to more leftfield cuts like Atis' 'Empyreum', with this selection, Cellini perfectly encapsulates the ever-evolving techno sound in Belgium.
