Leuven's and& festival announces first names

After a successful first edition with over 18 thousand visitors last year, Leuven's and& (pronounce: 'and') festival is back with another massive load of music, performances and art. In short, and& is an inspiring event that takes place between May 7 and 9 across 25 venues in the city centre, focusing on innovation in all its forms. The team has invited tastemakers and changemakers across the board, like thinkers, inventors, entrepreneurs, artists, DJs, etc.

As the official music curator, Het Depot has a significant stake in the night program, which – like the rest of the schedule – aims to inspire its visitors with a little out-of-the-box-thinking with parties and concerts at the concert venue and the underground hub Stelplaats. On the menu this year: Max Cooper, Nkisi, Yussef Dayes, Greentea Peng, DJ Marcelle, Octo Octa, Nosedrip and Victor De Roo.

Music curator Joris Vaes explains their enthusiasm for Max Cooper: “Max has always been interrogating and furthering the intersection between electronic music, visual art, technology and science. At and&, he will deliver a live sonic and multi-surface visual experience. This makes him the perfect addition to the line up of a festival that aims to inspire, not only to make you dance”. There’s more to come, however. Expect a mix of 25+ live shows, DJ-sets, talks and audiovisual club experiences.
